Moonsong Part II

In softer beams than golden sun
In she offers comfort, safe and warm
For though to us she brings no heat
Her heart it pulses every beat
Her blood a liquid silver boon
A song of life of love of truth
A glistening mirror in the sky
Of souls beneath her watchful eye

Not watching us with pique or ire
But out of mirth and to admire
To help and heal and offer aid
As weary vagrants make their way
Upon the earth in sweet and toil
He laughing eyes a smirk a foil

Sweet song, symphony
Soft now, trembling

Author's Note:

This song has a different meter than I would have intended for a song to be set to music; more jovial and with a faster, more upbeat tempo than I intentioned. But sometimes the writing just pours out of you and you can't really say no! Perhaps in the future I will write a more contemplative song about my beloved Moon as I meant this one to be. Perhaps not. But I hope you can enjoy this one in the meantime!
