One day the picture will be made true
One day we'll see the me and the you
The beauty of soul that was always there
One day we'll see the me and the you
The beauty of soul that was always there
But yet unearthed and now laid bare
The scratches and flaws now polished away
The stains of regret and of heartache and pain
The grief of our sin and the sins against us
All lost in the light of the rising sun
The leaves for the healing of nations
The river of life for our thirst
The joy of an unending morning
Without ache or the fear of the hurt
And the song that within us was growing
We'll be made at last to sing out
The sin that within us was groaning
Will be, like the darkness, shut out
Never again will we hunger
Never again be enslaved
Never again will we wander
Our spirits will be unrestrained
Free in the light of the Last One
Free in the light of the First
The Adam that came and the Adam that was
And the Eve that gave second birth
And we'll cherish the light of His promise
No longer in hope but made true
And we'll fear no more doubt
but relinquish a shout
at the glory of Bride and of Groom
Hi Airtimes, very cool imagery here. It’s a lovely poem. I don’t poetry, so take the below ideas with skepticism as they might interrupt a flow or concept I’m not on the proper wavelengths to catch for myself.
ReplyDeleteProbably just ignore everything I suggest on this topic. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to reading what you add next!
The stains of regret, heartache and pain < maybe flow
or
The stains of regret of heartache of pain < maybe emphasis through repetition
The grief of our sin and sins against us < flow
All seared white in the light of a rising sun < imagery
Leaves of palm for healing the nations < shot in the dark
River of life to quench our thirst < imagery
The living joy of an unending morning < probably making all things worse :)
Without ache or fear of hurt < flow
The Eve that gave second birth < repetition of previous line
Again, probably bad suggestions, but figured I would try my hand anyway.
Maybe add a title and site mod add “-author” for easy recognition?
